I hope you all had a marvelous weekend. Mine was inspiring and lovely. Although, it would have been more lovely had my husband's business law test not been rescheduled for Saturday. It spoiled my cuddle-all-weekend plans. (Oh, the day he is done with schooling will be a glorious one, indeed!) I spent the weekend listening to beautiful messages delivered by inspiring men and women. My kids were on a mission to direct my attention elsewhere, but I managed to hear the majority of the talks. As soon as my husband arrived home after a day of studying and testing, the weekend became a full-blown, family festivity. Everything is better when J is around; I am more cheery, we eat fantastic food (including homemade cinnamon rolls), and my kids magically transform into little darlings. Oh, to be the adored parent!
On Sunday, in between sessions, we wandered up to the nearby mountains to catch what may be one of the last weekends of these charming leaves. I hear our neighbor up north, Idaho, has already been dumped upon by snow. We are normally not too far behind them. (Autumn, I love your colorful magic. Winter, although we haven't been the best of friends in the past, I have a determination to enjoy your splendor past the first day of snow.)
I can't get over the beauty that is a Utah fall. Those reds! Those yellows! Brilliant against the white, cloudy sky. It was breathtaking. The day I live away from Utah in the fall will be a day of mourning. You may have seen too many of these leaf pictures on this blog already, but I can't get enough. Fall makes me happy.
We adventured out of our car when we reached the mountain look-out. The cold wind a-blown' made me grateful that we made the trek up there. Winter can't be too far away.
And, speaking of Fall. Have you seen these awesome spaghetti noodles at Target? Black, yes it is true. Ingredients include squid. Delectable, my dears. Make a pasta dish with black spaghetti noodles, wilted spinach, roasted butternut squash and a butter garlic sauce, and you will have a hauntingly flavor-filled, delicious dish.

I love Autumn, too. The colors are so rich and splendid and lovely.
ReplyDeleteBlack spaghetti noodles seems odd, but I think it would throw the old husband for a loop, and for that reason alone I plan to find them. Perfect for October, and Halloween, too.
Thanks for your comment about my daughters b.day invites. I've posted a couple more pictures of them, completely finished, if you're interested.
