I did a post on my favorite craft supplies last October, but if you know me...you know my mind changes all the time. I am a fickle crafter. I get really excited about certain supplies...and certain crafts...and then I hop to the next. I'm always in create mode, and I'm always looking for something new to learn and make.
I'm gung-ho for paper crafting and these are my current loves:
01. Border Punches. Have you ever played with these babies? They are so fun. They add a perfect finishing touch to a card or the top of a gift bag or tag. I really love this one by Fiskars, but my favorite brand is EK Success/Stampin' Up. Martha Stewart also makes some darling ones. They are a little pricey, so sign up for Michael's newsletter and get 40% off!
02. Copic Markers. Whenever my kids ask me to play, I tell them "Let's color! Go get your crayons." We spend hours upon hours coloring with crayons in coloring books. I love it! I can't think of anything more relaxing. When I am alone, however, I like to pull out the big-kid markers. Copics are amazing! They blend perfectly and the brush tip is precise. There really isn't a better marker. I use the Ciaos because they are cheaper, so I can afford more colors. These are refillable and the tips are replaceable. They'll last forever! I currently have sets A and B. I'd love to get the other two sets someday.
03. Mini Decks. I love these small paper packs by companies like Cosmo Cricket and Basic Gray. Since I like making cards, but don't really scrapbook, I like the scaled down pattern. They are affordable and so cute.
04. Scorpal. I've mentioned this on here before, but I am a bit of a perfectionist. I like things straight and perfectly spaced. This Scorpal is a life saver for me. It scores paper at the perfect measurements. I mainly use it to score cards, but I also frequently make gift boxes and embossed patterns with it.
The blue mat is called the Scormat. It fits into the scorpal to make a perfect little workspace when you aren't scoring. One side is a self-healing cutting mat and the other is shiny work surface. Adhesives can
easily be removed and ink can just wipe away.
05. Scotch ATG. This monster holds some amazing adhesive. It is actually for framers, I believe, but it works great for the average paper crafter. I think I've actually saved money using this big thing! The adhesive is super-duper strong and is archival safe. It is a little cumbersome and takes some getting used to, but I really have grown fond of it!
06. Copic Atyou Spica Glitter Pens. These are, hands down, the best glitter pens available. THE BEST. They come in beautiful colors and are get for adding a little glitz to your projects. They don't clog or jump like most glitter pens do. A must for you pen addicts.
07. Tim Holtz Non-stick Micro Serrated Scissors. This is my only item replacing a favorite from the last list. The main reason I love these is that I could get rid of all other scissors. These do it all! These never go dull! I can use the same scissors on my ribbon and fabric as I do on my paper and wire! They feel great in the hand and are so precise. And they are nonstick! These are going to be hard to beat.
That's all for now! Coming Soon: Favorite Needle Work & Sewing Supplies.

What a great list! That border punch is one of my favorites and oh my! to all the Copics. I would love to try those.
ReplyDeleteOh my word I agree with you on this! Every single item you listed is a must-have for any crafter! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat do people use those glitter pens for? Like one would glitter glue...same thing, only coloring with glitter? I don't color so I'm not familiar. I love my scissors...but I want more. I have a thing for scissors...will have to try these ones. And I just got the apron lace punch from Fiskars - looks like that one is next :)
ReplyDeleteYes, Michelle...you use it in place of glitter. They are great for added sparkle to small places. I sometimes outline flowers in patterned paper too.
ReplyDeleteThe supplies are all so luscious.... I kept staring at them with lust in my eyes.... I yearn for them all especially the adhesive.... I find no good ones here in India... I stick them & they are all up the next day.... I hate that.... U r so lucky..... & I envy u.... I loved the punch, the copics & the papers....
ReplyDeleteThe supplies are no doubt enticing, but these captures make them more luscious to me... Perfect captures.... Hugs )))

TFS Michelle. This border punch is one of my favorites too. Copics- to die for and rest of the things also so cool. Enjoy the goodies. I will wait till I have them all.
ReplyDeleteI want one of each - especially the copics. They are a dream for any wannabe artist like me.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is going to be the death of my bank account. I just purchased the spica glitter pens, the scissors and the scorpal after reading your recommendations. Seriously...you have to stop telling me about all the cool things you love. Cause I don't have the money.
ReplyDeleteBut...really don't stop. Cause I LOVE them all. (Obviously.) hehe. I just need to get some self control.
great picks! and the scissors look like something i might "need":)
ReplyDeleteI'm a score pal fan too.
ReplyDeleteThose markers and pens are tempting me. How is it that I haven't heard of them until now?
Marnie
The Scorpal is cool. I used to have a self-healing mat that was 14x14. It was so nice to have the extra inches for cutting 12x12 paper. I need to find one of those again...
ReplyDeleteThat adhesive roller is massive! It looks enough like a power tool that I bet I could convince my hubby to buy it for me. :)
Oh, and your photos are pretty great, too. You've got some great light!
You're really not helping me save any money here. I already have my heart set on the copics and now glitter pens too? Also, I pretty much need those scissors in my life immediately.
ReplyDeleteWhere do you recommend buying the Copic Ciao's? I have very few of the regular Copics, but I agree they are a little pricey, so I would like to try the Ciaos. Thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteSorry for my bad english. Thank you so much for your good post. Your post helped me in my college assignment, If you can provide me more details please email me.
