...flying away

On most days, I love being pregnant! I love feeling that baby inside me. I love reading pregnancy books (even on my third pregnancy.) I love the planning, the anticipating, and buying new, soft baby clothes. I love brainstorming names and dreaming about my baby's personality.

But...on other days I notice the weird things that it does to my body. Like...new hair, for example. I have hundreds of new little hair growths that are flying everywhere. They have a mind of their own. I can't tame them. Truly. I have tried so many products. Nothing works. And, then there is the issue of clothes, but I am not ready to talk about my depressing maternity wardrobe yet.

I better go read a baby name book to get out of this slump.

  2. Ok, I'm here to solve your problem. When my hair started growing in like crazy after I had my last baby, I tried everything too, nothing worked until someone suggested clear mascara... Worked like a charm! A bit of that stuff and your little hairs will stick down. Promise! You'll thank me.

  4. Am totally feeling the pregnancy "yucks" today. I am 38 weeks along, big, fit into none of my clothes (am not goingto buy more when I only have 2 weeks left), hot (as in "sweating hot" not "sexy hot". I sympathize or maybe just want some sympathy of my own...hehehe...but lets not forget how AMAZING it is to have that baby growing inside and how blessed we are :o)

  7. I HATE PREGNANCY HAIR!! It is the worst! I don't know if you have tried my stuff, but TIGI wax stick by bed head works SOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!
Just know that you truly glow Hannah. Seeing you in church on Sunday, you looked so pretty.
Go buy some new clothes, it makes you feel better. Even if it is just a new shirt. That always helped me when I was preggers!:)
LOVE the new blog layout. SOOOOOO CUTE!

  9. I remember having the same problem and solved it by using a hair wax. You look beautiful in those pictures! I wish that is what I looked like in "awkward" pictures!

  10. I hear ya about the hair! After my first son was born the hair started growing and it's conintued ever since. Oddly enough while it grows at the front I seem to be shedding from the back like crazy- weird hormone tricks!

Check out the book 'Active Birth' by Janet Balaskas and 'The Business of Being Born' DVD. They are both great resources!

  16. Hi Hannah...thanks for stopping by my blog this morning.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. What a beautiful and special time. Even with all the oddities. When I was pregnant every time I opened the freezer I thought I could smell the ice (from the icemaker) and that it stunk. I would dump the bucket out and start all over and the next time I opened the freezer I could smell it again!!! CRAZY!

  17. Hannah, thanks for stopping by my site but especially thank you for leaving a comment! Making new blogging friends is always fun...and welcomed!

I'm sorry but I've got no advice for the fly away hairs. My problem when I was pregnant was pretty much the opposite. I was sooo sick, all the time, that I had a vitamin deficiency and my hair became coarse and brittle. So many new and strange things happen to your body when your pregnant but thankfully it all works out in the end and then you're rewarded with a tremendous gift for your efforts. My two kids are 24 and 21 and I still think of them as my gifts!

Good luck with your fly aways, but truthfully, you look beautiful! Take care and have a great week!

  18. Congrats on your new little bean growing inside you! Oh, I definitely want a third but I do not envy you for being preggers right now! I have an 8 month old so that may have something to do with it...

  20. Those little baby hairs take FOREVER to grow back in, too. What is up with that? Shouldn't we get something good out of being pregnant.

Wait. We get the baby. That's pretty good, I guess. :-)

BTW, you might try a matte finish pomade on those fly aways. =)
