When Sarah and I went to the Relief Society Broadcast, our parking ticket was for a parking lot that wasn't very close. We were running late, so we both ended up running, in our dress shoes, for the Conference Center. After the conference, we both were walking through downtown SLC barefoot because our feet hurt so bad. The only thing Sarah and I could talk about on the way home was, "Why doesn't anyone make comfortable women's dress shoes!?"

I am on the hunt for some...and they can't be ugly. Anyone have any suggestions? I found
THESE. I like them, but don't love them yet. I hear they are comfortable, but they don't really look that more comfortable than the ones I already own.
I need help! What dress shoes do you have that are comfortable? Is there such a thing?

I would love to know what you find...I am on the same hunt! So far I haven't really found anything and I don't believe that spending more really means it's that much more comfortable...
ReplyDeleteHi Hannah,
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! As a fellow mother and member of the church down here in Texas, I enjoy reading about all your insights. I am a huge shoe-person and I highly recommend Dansko dress shoes. They are stylish and oh-so-comfy. Worth every penny!
Kristina
Try "You" by crocs. $$$$ but so adorable and crazy comfortable.
ReplyDeleteAll my danskos are comfortable. Aresoles has some cuter heels now that are also nice to wear, and there are a couple other brands that I know nordstrom has a few other brands that are comfortable, so you could try them on and see what you actually like. Sofft is one that I really love their styles.
ReplyDeleteThat's how I am. They have to be comfy then cute. And I am so picky about shoes. Aerosoles, Clarks, Life Stride - they have cute shoes. Some Nine West too.
ReplyDeleteLiz Claiborne makes a brand called Liz Flex - I haven't bought (or shopped for them) them in a couple of years but the two pair I have I used after foot surgery and they were very comfy - actually wore a pair of them yesterday!
ReplyDeleteI like the ones you pictured...
I love my danskos for comfort, although they're more of a casual shoe than a dress shoe. Clarks and Born are also great, although some shoes tend to be more casual than dressy. I've heard Aerosoles has stepped it up lately and isn't as grandma as it used to be, so I have plans to check them out. Maybe a trip to Nordstrom Rack should be in our future!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I read this before we went to General Conference today. We had to park several blocks away and walk (in the rain no less). Because of you, I wore boots instead of heels. Yipee!
ReplyDeleteI'm really limited in what shoes I can wear because of foot problems. Danskos were never comfortable for me. I love Borns. But to tell the truth, most of my shoe shopping anymore is done at Payless. I have to have flats, and I've found lots of great flat, comfortable shoes at Payless. I had a similar experience to yours a few years ago where I had to full-on run to the Conference Center from our parking garage. I got there and my feet were fine. So fine, in fact, that my friend and I decided to run back to the car so that we could avoid all the traffic after the concert.
