Hi. My name is Hannah and I am a chronic purger.
I not only love getting rid of stuff, but I honestly get a "high" every time I throw something in the trash or give a bag of stuff to D.I. I also get addicted each time I get rid of some unwanted item and have to wean myself off of it.
Today started off as a normal day until I saw my closet. It looked way to crowded, so I found the pair of shoes I liked the least and tossed them in the trash. Immediately, the drug hit my system and I went on a tossing rampage. I walked into E's room and found two shirts that make my eyes twitch every time I see her wear them. I tossed those in the trash too...along with a few other "unnecessary" items. It was a great feeling.
I finally talked myself out of throwing anything more away, and went to run a few errands. (I didn't want to be forced into walking around naked tomorrow because we no longer own clothing...) When I got home, E was standing by the door with the two shirts I had previously thrown in the trash.
"Mom! You are in big trouble. Clothes do NOT go in the trash. Do you want to go in time out??! You are a stinker."
I guess I am. Is there a support group for purgers?
That's hilarious. Will you come to my house and help me purge? I have tons o' stuff that needs to go, but not always the will power to let it go. I'm a tad too nostalgic. Cute Emma calling you a stinker.
ReplyDeletehaha! We are two peas in a pod. Emma is the funniest.
ReplyDeleteEmma is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteSo funny!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI also love to get rid of everything!
Oooh, you would go crazy at my house! I am half-way to being a "stuff bulemic". I have the binging part down to a science, but I'm not so good at purging. Don't get my wrong - my stuff is all nicely organized and labeled and put away; there is just a lot of it! I'm consistently surprised at the amount of stuff I've accumulated over the years.
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate! I love getting rid of clutter: http://stephaniesheaffer.blogspot.com/2007/10/functional-versus-aesthetic-workspaces.html
ReplyDeletehahahah Next time you feel the need to throw stuff away let your buddy in Orem know!! It stinks being in college and a newlywed, it's hard to afford cute things.
