Have you ever done this? You are almost done making your card. You like it and all you need to do is stamp the sentiment. You can't wait to see the completed card. And then.........you stamp the sentiment crooked. RUINING your card. Gah! Please pretend that the "birthday" isn't slanted. Sigh. (This will definitely be a birthday card for my mom who thinks everything that I make is beautiful.)
Luckily, Dawn's lovely designed stamps take the attention away from my mistake. I pulled my favorite Wplus9 stamp out for this card: Ever After. If you don't own it yet, you should really get your hands on it!
Other supplies used on this project:
Stamps: Wplus9 (Ever After, Spring Post)
Paper, Cardstock, Twine: Papertrey Ink
Border Punch: Stampin' Up!
Ink: ColorBox (Dark Brown & Lipstick Red); Distress Ink (Antique Linen)

Been there, TOTALLY have the t-shirt! {Ugh!} I have a LONG resume of elements I have bungled, trying to do ONE LAST THING! So, honey, baby, I FEEL your pain! Meanwhile, not to sound totally Mom-ish... heh heh BUT I would COMPLETELY love this card, right with your mom, and NOT even notice anything askew! {SERIOUSLY!} Probably, if you don't tell a soul - NO one, not even a non-mom, would notice! BUT it sure makes for a fun post premise! AND, after getting lost in those gorgeously colored flowers {!} I'm already GONE, baby gone! LOVE this, m'dear! xoxo!
ReplyDeleteHannah you are too funny! I actually like how it's slanted a bit...it seriously looks like you meant to do it! I'm the queen of perfectionism and trust me there has been PLENTY a trashed card because of my OCD :-) my trick now is usually do the sentiment first lol
ReplyDeleteI actually like the "birthday" slanted, it gives it character. But I am like you, a perfectionist. But the card looks great!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if I could get in touch with you about your website design prices? My husband is now a food reviewer for D magazine and needs to get a website up and going. Thanks!
TOTALLY been there, girl! Grrr! Don't you hate that?! But your card is absolutely beautiful! Those flowers are so bold and bright and happy and full of dimension right down to the core! Scrumptious!
ReplyDeleteI have to do the sentiment first because I don't have one of those cool aligner things you do.
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty!! I love the beautiful flowers, and the bit of twine you've added to it!! Stamping crooked infuriates me...and is why I almost have a nervous breakdown when stamping with red rubber stamps...tee hee! So- I stick to clear stamps as much as possible....and I use a lot of rulers. :)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have noticed the slant if you didn't say anything. But it is for that reason, I try to stamp words at an angle. No matter what it looks like it supposed to be that way!
ReplyDeleteOH, Hannah!! This is super cute! LOVE your flowers! And I wouldn't have noticed that slant--still don't!!
ReplyDeleteI'll take it!! BTW - is it really slanted. Looks great to me.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful card!!!
ReplyDeleteJust adorable!
ReplyDeleteGreat color prompt.
