...it's time for a new purse

I try not to succumb to my purse addiction, but I also realize that it would be a lost battle to try to not buy purses at all. I decided that the best way to avoid outrageous spending is to allow myself a fun purse/bag purchase 1-2 times a year, and I am on the hunt for a good summer bag.

Here are the qualifications for my perfect bag:
1. I want it to be roomy, but not too big that it looks like a diaper bag.
2. Even though I don't want it to look like a diaper bag, I need it big enough to double as one if needed.
3. I want it to be a fun color. I have owned enough black and brown purses. I am thinking yellow or orange.
4. The price needs to be right. I don't believe in buying cheap shoes, but I'm okay with a mid-range/Target priced bag. I want to pay less than $50.
5. I like pockets. I need to be able to organize it!

I have looked at Target, but didn't see anything appealing. Any other suggestions of good placed to search for a cheap-ish (yet cute) purse?

  1. I just bought a purse when I went back home to KC... and I too am tired of black/brown, etc. I bought a pink purse! I'll take pictures of it, but I got it at Gordman's (do you have one?). It's nice & roomy, but yet classy. I am going to blog on it soon!

  2. Banana Republic has an awesome handbag collection. If you watch them, once they go on sale the are ridiculously cheap. At full price they will give you a heart attach but just keep an eye on them.

  4. I always have good luck with bags at Kohls. Reasonably priced and if you can dig through all the ugly ones, you are bound to find something cute. Good Luck!

  11. heard of michi? it's online...you choose the bag-black or brown and then you get to purchase a many (or as little) covers as you want. They have some fun ones and they come out with 2 or 3 new ones a year. They are a little on the smaller side, in reference to a "diaper bag", but it could fit a wipes case and a couple diapers...i think...not completely sure on that.
My mom and sister both own one and they LOVE them! I will be adding it to my purse collection soon ;)
hope this helps, even a little.

  12. So funny, I've been a little handbag obsessed myself lately. I just ordered this one from Macy's, regular $85, right now $40-- I was won over by all the awesome reviews. I got red, but they've got a great Marigold color....
