I make New Years Resolutions every year on New Years Eve. My list usually ends up being a couple pages long and consists of a list of attributes/habits my ideal self would have and would be impossible to accomplish in a year. This year, I tried to be more realistic and choose things that would be worthwhile AND possible to attain. Here they are:
1. ORGANIZE MY HOME (Send all unneeded items to local thrift store, organize closets and kitchen, give away unused toys, etc)
2. DECORATE MY OFFICE (I spend so much time in here...I should enjoy the space a little more. Maybe a couple prints from an artist I think is awesome may be in order.)
3. DESIGN MORE TEMPLATES (Wedding invites, Baby Announcement, Blog Designs)
4. GO ON 2 FAMILY VACATIONS (We already have tickets to Hawaii, but I would also like to visit family up north.)
5. SPEND MORE TIME PLAYING WITH MY KIDS, LESS TIME WORKING (I have been struggling with this balance lately. I just want to keep my priorities straight.)
6. READ SCRIPTURES DAILY (I will admit that I struggled with this one last year. I tried, but I definitely missed days here and there.)
7. READ A BOOK MONTHLY (I am in a book club, but haven't been able to make it every month because of my husband's night school. I hope to make it more often this year or at least read the book.)
8. BE A HEALTHY FAMILY (J and I decided that we need to be more healthy now to instill good habits early in our kids. We are going to do a weekly family physical activity on Saturdays and we have enrolled in a program that delivers organic milk (no more hormone-injected cows for us! Yay!), organic eggs and other whole/natural foods to our home. We already eat a lot of fruits, veggies and low-fat foods, we just want to bump it to the next level.)
I hope you all enjoyed your New Years!! What are YOUR New Years Resolutions?

GREAT list... really great...
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous of your book club!
Fantastic list, and I have some of the same aspirations. So, when are we going to get together? I haven't seen you forever and I'm missing our outings!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your list Hannah! I struggle with play time/work time with my baby too, and home delivery milk is so fun! Last year my resolution was to read a book every month and I think it was the first time I actually accomplished a resolution!
ReplyDeleteI have some similiar resolutions. Another blogger told me about the Chrological Bible (a Bible that's put in order and then broken down into the 365 days) and this has worked for me. By January 17th, I have usually broken my resolutions, but not this year because this seems to be keeping me on track.
