...high heels FOR BABIES!

After seeing these on 5 of the blogs I subscribe to, I had to add my 2 cents.I am a very opinionated person, and some people may say I am taking this a little overboard, but these actually are making me a little mad!! Why can't kids be kids?? I don't understand the lepard bikinis on 2 year olds, the Bratz dolls or these shoes! My brother-in-law thinks they are funny and cute, and maybe that is why they appeal to some people, but I don't see what is funny about them. I may be in the minority here, but I just don't get it.

Here are some baby items that I think are darling and tasteful:

  1. i think they're super funny. i'm not a bratz or bikini baby mama at all, but i just think they're tongue in cheek and funny. just my 2 cents.

  2. No, you are right on! This is ridiculous. I was addicted to heals and then had major issues going back to flats - long story short - heels are awesome but completely against nature and wrong for little ladies.

  3. I agree with you, there is nothing wrong with just letting a baby be a baby. A lot of toys/movies/clothing geared towards tiny girls is way too mature and almost sexy. Which is the LAST thing these poor little things need.

  4. I think they're cute -- for dress-up (and that's about for all)!

But then again, I'm even bothered by how "cute" people think it is when little girls wear make-up.

There's a book at my local Barnes & Noble I've been meaning to buy: "The Lolita Effect -- The Media Sexualization of Young Girls and What We Can Do About It." Maybe it will shed some light!

  5. They're cute...for dress-up, that's for what and that's all!

I've never understood the desire to put make-up on little girls, dress them in "sexy" clothing, etc.

  6. I'm obsessed with heels, but I don't think girls should wear serious heels until they are in their teens, their late teens. These shoes are further evidence of the rising generation of prosti-tots. Sad.

  9. Obviously they are just dress-ups. I am a fan of letting the little ones be little for as long as possible, but I don't think baby heels are giving the babies ideas to start wearing make-up or anything. It's just a silly product that probably won't stay around. I'll just have a good laugh at them until then.

  12. Yeah, I noticed these a couple of weeks ago... have to admit I was a little disgusted. There's only a tiny window of life when babies get to be babies... they'll have decades to wear hooker shoes. Because we're all entitled to our own opinions, I can appreciate that people think they're cute, and have no problem with them dressing their kids this way. It's just nothing I'll ever be doing...
