...Women's Conference

On Thursday and Friday, my mom, Sarah, my mom's Texas friend, Elaine Jackson, and I went to Women's Conference. We had a blast! We learned a lot, talked a lot, and laughed a TON! We ate great food. (We were strong, though, and didn't buy any mint brownies...) The funniest thing about women's conference were the "Mormon women!" We decided that Mormon women are the rudest people EVER! They leave class 10 minutes before the classes end to be first in line for the next class, push you out of the way if you are walking too slow, instruct the instructors on how to run the classes, and take over the instant choir because the director wasn't quite up to their standards.

Below is a picture of a woman that we made fun of for the rest of Woman's Conference. (I know...it is mean, but how could we not!? I blurred her face so that no one would recognize her.) She didn't like the way their Instant Choir director was doing things, so she stood up and started taking over the alto section. It was so funny! We were laughing at her during choir practice and continued giggling for the next 2 days!
I was shoved so many times because I was walking to slow. And these were obvious, elbow in my gut shoves. (And it is not like I could walk any faster!! I was going as fast as the 1000 women in front of me!) I really couldn't believe these women!

This is a picture of Elaine (left) and my mom (right) untangling yarn. We did a few different service projects while we were there, and this was one of them. Sarah and I also colored a bunch of file folder games. They were fun to do while we listened to the speakers.

During the last session, we happened to sit by all my old WyView friends!! I was so excited to see them! I couldn't go to the conference with them because my mom and sister wanted to go with me, so I was so happy to be able to talk with them for a little while. They all looked beautiful and it made me miss our old Wyview days!

  2. This post is so funny to me. I totally know what you're talking about. I always hated being on campus during women's conference- it's so hard to get any where or get anything done when you're in spring term! I'm dieing to get together soon too- let me make it through this week!

  7. Yeah the Mo's on a whole are pretty crazy rude people. You think we would be all full of love and happines, but no there are a lot of grumpy people walking around. Pretty sure I was leading the music for a Stake RS meeting and a woman in the back started directing but faster... she came up afterwards and told me I lead too slow and if I wasn't comfortable with it I shouldn't have directed. I told her that I was going as fast as the organist and asked her what her big problem was??? It's a hymn for crying in the night. Man, we can be crazy women! :) Sorry you got shoved!!!
