I don't want to ruin my goal by not posting today, but man alive...I am tired.
Want to know what I learned today? I hate LDS church basketball. It turns nice adult men into psycho, macho freaks. It is embarrassing! J played in our Stake basketball tournament today and those guys were insane. They were so physical and hot headed. Personally...I think they should do away with the whole program. IT IS JUST A CHURCH BASKETBALL GAME! It doesn't even matter! gosh..
But just for the record...my sweet husband wasn't one of the hot-headed ones. He made me proud. AND...our ward will be playing in regionals next week, so I guess I have more church ball ahead of me.

I agree it is not showing of what the church really is - esecially to the investigators who come see a "fun" event in the church.
ReplyDeleteI remember a t-shirt they sold at Deseret Book that said, "Church Ball-the only fight that starts and ends with a prayer!"
ReplyDeleteSo true!
Church ball is brutal. If you can make it there - you can make it anywhere....or maybe that is New York. Either way...
ReplyDeletemy hubby feels the same way! he refuses to play.
ReplyDeletefeel the same. in fact I boycotted even watching my hubby play 10 years ago.
ReplyDeleteNow my son plays and I am his #1 spectator & cheerleader.
that is until one day it gets ugly.
no one needs that!
I remember YW basketball getting nasty when I was 12! Seriously, it doesn't have to be that way. I'm so sorry things didn't work out yesterday! We'll need to reschedule ASAP!
ReplyDeleteYeah... I felt this way about Young Men's basketball because the parents were acting like idiots.. and then the team Josh played against were complete idiots this last week... Ahhh. I hate church basketball too!
ReplyDeletethe posting every day thing is hard, isn't it. but i am enjoying your effort.
ReplyDeletechurch ball- taken a little too seriously, i agree.
What are you trying to say, pedaling? That the quality of my posts are going downhill cause I am running out of things to say?? :) ha...actually, it is true. It has been a challenge, and I will be glad when the month is over. Just crossed the 1/2-way mark...
